The Wing is an organization of volunteers dedicated to supporting the Academy Theatre with both our time and talents. We support many events and fundraisers throughout the year. Activities include operating the concession stand, making and selling candy-grams, selling presentation gifts for performers, and hosting raffles.
Wing meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 5:00 pm at the Academy Theatre, 275 Chestnut Street.
The Wing is always looking for new members and would love for you to join us. The expected involvement is 24 hours of personal time per year. We welcome your fresh ideas for fundraising or your help with ideas that have worked in the past. What we need the most is you!

The 19 members of the Academy Theatre’s WING worked hard this past fiscal year to help the Theatre with their latest project, replacing the Marquee on the façade of the building. The WING is a group of volunteers that assist the Academy in so many ways including; fundraising, concessions/raffle and will call during shows, decorating the theatre for each show and holidays, and being an overall extra set of hands when in need.
That is just mentioning a few things.
As pictured, WING president, Rosalie Mercatoris presents their check to the Academy Theatre Foundation president, Jane Pickens, for the amount of $10,644.65. In attendance was fellow WING members (FRONT) Mary Tedesco, Day Mansfield, Saundra Mook, Connie Zappia, Mary Shaffer, Diane Malady, Kileigh Barnett (Administrator), Patty Apel (BACK) Rose Corbett, Eric Brockman, Maggie Stoner, Joyce Snyder, Theresa Osborne, Autumn Lundin. Not in attendance were WING members Charlotte Thomas, Brenda Costa, Barb Spencer, and Meredith Gough.
The Academy Theatre is beyond proud of the accomplishments from this group of volunteers and is eager to see what they have in store for this fiscal year!
