TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
We are looking for a sound and light designer of our 2022-2023 Season!
Responsibilities:

Operates, maintains and safeguards the technical assets of the theatre, including supervising the use of sound and communications equipment.

Provide Artistic Director with an inventory of available equipment.

Determines the necessary technical supports, such as sound and special needs, necessary for events and performances presented at the facility in advance of production dates.

Design, set up, and operate sound systems for theatre, dance, music, and other productions and projects as outlined below; assists guest designers and arts with technical matters.

Advises production managers and sound designers on the technical specifications, costs and usage of technical equipment required for the individual show, and supervises the implementations of approved technical designs.

Ensure that all sound equipment is cleaned, repaired, if necessary, and stored properly at the end of the show.

Assists in recruiting, training and assignment of volunteer or paid technical staff for individual shows to assure uniformity and sound quality.

Monitors the condition of sound equipment; recommends to Artistic Director for the repair and replacement; performs preventive maintenance on equipment.

Assists with the preparation and control of production budgets; maintains inventory and orders specialized supplies.

Attends Technical Week rehearsals for all performances outlined below in order to supervise and assist in the technical aspects of the mounting the show.

Makes recommendations to the Artistic Director regarding capital purchases of technical equipment.

TICKET AGENTS
How would you like to join our theatre family as a box office ticket agent?
The Academy Theatre is looking to hire part-time occasional help selling tickets during our performances. You would be on call for our weekend productions; we have a new production every other month. Each production has thirteen shifts available to work with 1-3 hours per shift. Once successfully trained, you can sign up for as many shifts as you like. Each ticket agent gets a complimentary ticket to every production.
